Welcome to Lucedale Intermediate School.
Lucedale Intermediate School is rated a "High Performing School" by the state of Mississippi. We are located at 159 Mable Street in Lucedale, Mississippi. We have approximately 300 fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students. LIS has a Schoolwide Title I Program. Our teachers have high expectations for all our students and strive to meet the individual needs of each student. LIS students receive instruction on their individual reading and math levels in small groups. Our teachers and assistants also provide small group and one-on-one help as needed. Students work in the computer lab each day to improve reading, language, and math skills. Our students participate in the Accelerated Reading program in an outstanding manner every year. We have several active student organizations: Student Council, Junior Beta Club, and Book Club. Fifth and sixth grade students participate in our annual Science Fair. Lucedale Intermediate School Parent Teacher Organization is also active on our campus.
Our mission is to love, nurture, and teach our students and thereby empower them to become responsible citizens and life long learners.
